Hemispherical head advantages: the minimum specific surface area, the required thickness is small, the pressure capacity is large. Disadvantages: the depth is large, the overall stamping is difficult. Oval head features: small specific surface area, standard head and cylinder equal thickness, large pressure capacity, easy to press forming.
Structural characteristics and selection of head
1. Hemispherical head
Advantages: The minimum specific surface area, the required thickness is small, the bearing capacity is large.
Disadvantages: the depth is large, the overall stamping is difficult.
2. Oval head
Features: small specific surface area, standard head and cylinder equal thickness, large bearing capacity, easy to press forming.
3. Dished head
Advantages: Easy to be formed by hand or by stamping
Disadvantages: The radius of curvature has a sudden change, there is a large edge stress.
4. Ball crown head
Advantages: simple structure, convenient manufacturing.
Disadvantages: lateral thrust and large edge stress.
5. Conical head
Advantages: easy to introduce and extract viscous liquid or solid materials in the equipment; And can be used as a two-part reducing section with different diameters on some equipment.
Disadvantages: large transverse thrust and edge stress.
6. Flat head
Pros: Easiest to manufacture.
Disadvantages: Worst pressure bearing capacity.
